  16. This file corrects a problem with previous versions of MONITOR.NLM for
  17. NetWare 3.11 that could cause a General Protection Processor Exception
  18. (GPPE) on the server.  The GPPE would generally occur when MONITOR was
  19. loaded for extended periods of time.  This file keeps the console locked in
  20. cases such as PSERVER being unloaded remotely through PCONSOLE.

  41. This README file of MON175.EXE accompanies MONITOR.NLM v1.75 for NetWare
  42. v3.11.
  43.  
  44. This file (MONITOR.NLM v1.75) includes a fix to keep the console locked in
  45. MONITOR under all conditions. In previous versions of MONITOR if an
  46. application such as the PServer was unloaded remotely via PCONSOLE it would
  47. cause the console to unlock.
  48.  
  49. This file (MONITOR.NLM v1.75) corrects a problem seen in previous versions
  50. of MONITOR.NLM.  These previous versions could cause a "General Protection
  51. Processor Exception (GPPE) running process Monitor Background process"
  52. error on the server.  This would generally occur when MONITOR was loaded
  53. for extended periods of time (30 days or so) and was caused by resource
  54. contention between the foreground and background processes of MONITOR. 
  55. This version supercedes previous versions and includes all such fixes.

  57. To install MONITOR.NLM v1.75 complete the following instructions:
  58.  
  59.      (note,  unload MONITOR at the console)
  60.  
  61. 1)   Flag MONITOR.NLM as N (Normal) in the SYS:SYSTEM directory.
  62.  
  63. 2)   Rename the existing copy of MONITOR.NLM to MONITOR.OLD for backup
  64. purposes.
  65.  
  66. 3)   Copy this new version of MONITOR.NLM to the SYS:SYSTEM directory.
  67.  
  68. 4)   Flag the new copy of MONITOR.NLM back to SRO (Sharable Read Only).
  69.  
  70. 5)   Type LOAD MONITOR at the console.
